Good Virus and Spyware Programs

Postby dragonmike » Fri Feb 25, 2005 7:14 pm

Almost everyone out there is constantly wondering "Is my virus software good enough?" The answer. No. New viruses are coming out everyday practically and good virus protection is a must. Here a a list of programs and scanners that WORK. In a way an antivirus program is kind of like a virus that attacks bad viruses. It helps to have more than one virus/spyware program because some programs can recognize files that are potentially dangerous that other programs cannot detect.

So far I'm liking MS Anti-Spyware a ton...but I see you already posted it, so I'll just wonder off again until I find something new.

Actually there is one I don't see listed that I really did like, but I can't remember the name, once I find it I'll post it.

Dragon Mike you are right MS finally did do something right. Although I use Spybot Search and Destroy 1.3 and Adaware Personal 1.05 When I installed MS Anti-Spyware I didn't have any spyware for it to find and I still haven't. I like its setting especially with browser hijacking's. Although I don't have those.

I got this from a very experienced person and friend who works on PC problems for a liveing.
So you decide,i have and it's $29.95 for me.
Try the trial version, not the free version and reply.
Also he insists you buy Nortons 2005.

I can't stand Norton. It's a heavy application with almost no real use. Of course if I had it my way, everyone would stay away from spyware-full programs (Like Kazaa and Limewire etc...) and lurk behind 2 physical and 2 software-based firewalls.

I am currently using AVG and I got problems updating it now unlike before that it tends to become faster. Now it is hard to update this anti virus.
