linux help?

I've been reading about installing software on linux.WOW.... All this is way over my head. Is their such a thing as a installation wizzard that i can download? How do I install software? I need step by step instructions guys. Sorry. This is deep for me.

Depending on what distro you have, there's package managers. If you're using RedHat, just use their RPM manager. For other distros, research apt-get
