how this company work and how novell related to linux/unix? and how does linspire contribute to linux

Linux is not a company. Novell owns the SuSE Linux distribution. Linspire is a linux distro. To learn more about linux go here:

linux is open-source meaning that they don't have any legal things and any1 who is a programmer can update linux?
