Need Upgrading Advice

Postby tt189 » Tue Jul 22, 2008 10:13 pm

Currently I have;

Opteron 175 socket 939
ASUS A8N32-SLI Deluxe NF4SLI 939
HD 320G Seagate sata
1gbx2 Corsair TWINXMS
512mbx2 Corsair TWINXMS
EVGA GeForce 8800 GTS Superclocked 640MB GDDR3
OCZ GameXStream 700w
Windows XP

I'm thinking of upgrading to Intel, need some advice on a cpu, Mobo, and Ram.

Budget;
~$200 for a cpu
~$200 for a Mobo
~$150 for Ram

The primary function will be a gaming PC, for games like First person shooters, Real Time strategy, and MMORPGs.

Any suggestions would be helpful.

Try to buy mother board and processor of same company as it helps the overall speed of the system. So it is better to buy mother board and processor of Intel. Intel core i5-750 processor would be a good choice and its price is below $200. Intel DX48BT2 is a good mother board that suits your needs. I think the Cosair XMS3 DDR3 RAM would be the best choice for you. I am sure that if you use all these in upgrading your PC will become so fast. For playing high graphics games you have to purchase some graphics cards from ATI or Nvidia.
