Intel Celeron Advice Needed

Postby Penguin » Fri Jul 11, 2008 7:47 pm

Hey, I've got a Celeron D 340 (2.93GHz) in my PC, and it's been running a bit too warm for a while now. It has not caused any stability issues yet, but I know that the lifespan is going to be a bit shorter than otherwise, and the voltage/speed control is probably slowing down the core in it's vain attempt to moderate the temperature. I read that my generation of Celeron is known to run hotter than other Intel P4/Celerons simlar to it, so I'm not surprised. I also have a generic aluminum heatsink-fan unit, nothing special. Should I let it be, upgrade my CPU, find a more powerful (and expensive) cooler or what?

It's update time if you can afford it.Celeron is History.
A new mbd and Intel cpu is a better option if you want
to improve your computeing.
