Postby lbreevesii » Wed Apr 27, 2005 3:44 pm

Alright guys, heres the deal. I'm running a 2.6HT prescott P4 in a project system...yeah feel my pain on the heat. I would like ot know if anybody would be willing to help me tackle the heat issue. Does anybody have any leftover artic silver ceramique that they would be willing to donate?

Thanks guys

You dont have like 3 bucks to stroll down to CompUSA or best buy?

Or this is an alternative i found to be EXCELLENT!

Drop by HomeDepot, get a sheet of copper (you better know how thin you need it) and use something like a hacksaw, cable cutters, or a dremel tool if you have it too cut a piece of copper out. Place copper inbetween HSF and CPU and temps drop at a fairly nice amount... Or you can make it better using Arctic silver.... i did this on my "server"

1. lap heatsink
2. wire management
3. as5
4. open case up
5. make sure h/s is installed properly

I just don't feel like dropping 12 bux for a tube of ceramique form new egg. This thing is running in a full tower case with no fewer than 7 fans(including cpu fans) and it still idles at just under 50*C. I'm sure somebody has some layin around from a build that they don't need anymore.
