All converters are pretty much the same. Just grab the first one. Just make sure it uses LAME encoding.

On another note, who the hell still uses WAV files?

The only reason she's using Wavs is cause she uses a voice recorder that she got from her job and it only exports the files as Wavs.

Makes sense... Yeah as I said, all encoders are pretty much the same. Just make sure it's based on LAME encoding.

This is overlooked by some Creative SB users.
Just load .wav and save as .mp3,Auto conversion.

I forgot to include,
Creative SB cards come with a converter called,
Wave Studio, just load file.wav and go to save as file.mp3.
You can also edit volume.

There are many programs that converts audio files, some of them supports more formats, another less ones and the other only strict formats. I am not a follower of ad-hoc converters. I think that it's better when a program allows to convert in many formats. Googled I found a good doenload archive on http://www.directfreedownloads.com/rippers_encoders_11. I chose Audio Converter Studio. And I satisfied with it.

Almost all encoders are same. There won’t be much difference in quality of the converted file. If you ask which one is I am using for these purposes are then my answer will be Protocol Converter. It has all facilities that a converter needed. It converts WAV to MP3, MP3 to WAV, CD audio to WAV or MP3 and MP3 or WAV to CD etc. That’s why I prefer Protocol Converter. But I don’t claim that it is the best. But I think it would be a good choice for you. The choice is all yours.

I use Pazera free audio extractor, the best completely free audio converter.

You won't find a better free converter (that supports so many file formats)

Format Factory is really good, I use it for converting Videos and occasionally music files.

You can download the latest version free from their site or look for it on Cnet, I'm sure it's there too.
