thanks for the help. My new specs will be

Fatal1ty mobo
1gb ddr 400
x800xl video card
probably intel 640
200gb s-ata hd

just to make sure, would all of that be compatible? Also, what size power supply do you recomend for this setup? Also, other than the 2mb cache, what is different about the intel 640 processor compared to a pentium 4 prescott 3.2 EE? Thanks

You must shut down and unplug the pws for this type of connecting.
Did you obey the rules for this kind of work ?
Plug and Play has it's limits.

The main difference is that it is 64bit. That is a huge increase in performance, but right now barely any programs are coded for 64bit. There is windows xp 64 bit edition, so u might wanna get that. And I would recomend at least a 430W psu.
